SPECIFICATION WRITING AND REVIEW

PROPOSAL EVALUATION

We provide technical evaluation of supplier bids to support informed procurement decisions and identify technical and project-related risks before award.

Proposal evaluation includes:

  • Assessment of technical compliance of bids

  • Evaluation of design approaches, assumptions, and associated technical risks

  • Review of supplier capability and schedules

DESIGN REVIEW

We provide comprehensive design reviews to ensure transformer designs meet user specifications, applicable standards, and performance requirements across all operating conditions.

Design review includes:

  • Component selection: suitability and compliance of critical components (bushings, tap changers, reactors, booster transformers, auxiliary transformers etc.)

  • Electrical design: core, winding configuration, impedance, and losses calculations including multi winding configurations

  • Insulation & electrostatic design: verification of insulation systems and clearances under operating and impulse conditions

  • Electromagnetic design: evaluation of performance under normal operation and short-circuit conditions

  • Thermal design: evaluation of cooling systems and temperature rise limits

  • Mechanical and Control design: Compliance with user-specific requirements

MANUFACTURING INSPECTIONS

We perform independent inspections at critical manufacturing stages to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards, verify the correct application of key sub-assemblies, and assess workmanship and material quality. Our approach enables early identification and reporting of non-conformances, helping minimize risk and ensure overall manufacturing integrity.

Inspection coverage includes:

  • Core manufacturing

  • Winding manufacturing

  • Core and coil assembly

  • Pre-Vapour Phase Drying (VPD) inspection

  • Pre-tanking inspection

FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST (FAT) WITNESSING

We provide independent FAT witnessing services to ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with project specifications and applicable international standards (IEEE/CSA/IEC). It also involves final inspections to confirm that the assembled transformer including control cabinets, wiring, and auxiliary systems align with approved drawings and quality expectations.

FAT witnessing includes:

  • Routine tests

  • Type tests

  • Special tests

FAT Witnessing services are provided for Transformers and Shunt Reactors up to 765kV.
